After 20 years of public accounting in New York, Arthur Birnbaum relocated to California and opened his own practice in 1985. In 1999, he merged his practice with Cashuk, Wiseman & Goldberg and in 2004 became the managing partner for the practice.

His concentration is in individual and small business tax preparation and planning. He has worked with large and small firms. He is a member of the National Society of Accountants and the California Society of CPAs.

Birnbaum graduated from Fordham University, in New York, with a Bachelors of Science degree in Economics followed by a MBA degree in Accounting from Columbia University Graduate School of Business. He made partner in a diversified company prior to reaching his 30th birthday.

His philanthropic efforts are aimed at improving access to quality healthcare and education - with an emphasis on mental health. He has been named Volunteer of the Year by the San Diego Mental Health Association, where he has volunteered as a board member and treasurer for over 10 years.
